About Grafana Cloud
Grafana Cloud is the fully managed version of Grafana: dashboards, unified alerting, and logs, metrics, and traces collection, all run by Grafana Labs. Instead of provisioning and maintaining Prometheus, Loki, and Tempo yourself, agents ship telemetry to Grafana Cloud and the dashboards work straight away.
It is marketed and priced as its own product, separate from the open-source Grafana you self-host. The free tier includes 10,000 active metrics series and 50 GB each of logs, traces, and profiles a month with 14-day retention, which is enough for side projects, and usage-based pricing scales up from there, which makes cost the main thing to watch compared with a fixed self-hosted setup.
The free tier also covers Kubernetes Monitoring allowances and a few Incident Response and Management (IRM) users, so a small team can monitor clusters and handle incidents from one account. Paid tiers add longer data retention and more users, competing more on retention and add-ons than on the dashboarding experience, which stays identical to the open-source product.
